Services
Cardiac Ultrasound
- Echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound, TTE): An ultrasound examination of the heart through the chest wall — painless, no preparation needed, takes about 30 minutes. Shows the size and pumping strength of the heart, the heart valves and the pressure conditions.
ECG and Heart Rhythm
- Resting ECG: Measures the electrical activity of the heart via skin electrodes — painless, takes a few minutes. Detects, among other things, rhythm disturbances and circulation problems.
- Long-term ECG (Holter): A small, portable device records your heart rhythm during everyday life — depending on the question, for between 48 hours and more than a week. This can identify palpitations, dizziness or unexplained fainting that a short ECG would miss.
I do not offer ergometry, cardiopulmonary exercise testing (spiroergometry) or further sports-medical performance diagnostics at the practice in Samedan. Where needed, I refer patients to the Swiss Olympic Medical Base at Klinik Gut St. Moritz, which I head.
Blood Pressure and Circulation
- 24-hour blood pressure monitoring: Automatic measurement over a day and a night, to assess high blood pressure and the effect of medication.
- Assessment and management of high blood pressure
Heart Failure and Follow-up
- Follow-up care for heart failure
- Assessment of physical exercise capacity
Prevention and Risk
- Cardiovascular risk assessment: According to the recommendations of the specialist societies, including family history, blood pressure, blood lipids and glucose metabolism.
- Referral for further imaging: Such as coronary CT or calcium score, where indicated.
Assessment
- Cardiology second opinion
- Cardiac assessment before surgery
- Fitness assessments and expert reports
In Addition
- General internal medicine questions: Are addressed as part of your cardiology care.
